Simply the worst golf course in Wisconsin

Reviewed September 21, 2012

It's plain and simple - avoid this course unless you like playing on crappy, unplayable, not maintained golf courses.

Never heard of this course before and went there on a groupon 3 weeks ago. Our four some had the worst time ever. This place should not even be called a course. I've golfed at plenty of courses in WI, public and private alike and never once thought a course was "horrible" or after the first few holes thought about complaining to the staff. As other reviewers have said, the course its basically plowed field, straight shot to the hole. The grass wasn't even grass - it was like moss or something that was unreal to hit out of. Greens were BRUTAL for mid August play. I've seen much better greens on county courses in March. This place is a joke, who ever runs doesn't stick any money into up keep and it shows. You could not pay me to play in this field. Not enjoyable and not worth whatever they charge, stay away you are better off going to the driving range.

In my history of golfing in midwest Wisconsin, this has to be the WORST ATROCITY of a golf course I have ever encountered, in the world. Its really not a golf course, its more of a bunch of unthought out pathways mowed out of a corn field. If you love "golfing" in ocassionally mowed weeds in the middle of a corn field, i guess maybe this is for you. I only went there was a coupon. I wouldn't go if they paid me to play it. Thorugh the play, we couldn't stop laughing at how bad the course was. There was actually one hole, where if your drive was slightly off, it would bounce off the roof of a tool shed and still land fairly close to the green. The holes aren't even next to each other in any order, you need a map to navigate between one hole to the next. I can't impart how bad this place is. The owner was actually there the day we went, he was extremely rude and made fun of us for using a coupon, just as a last fyi.

I had a Groupon for this place. After the fact I glanced at the previous reviews but figured I already had the Groupon, so I would give it a try. I'm sorry to report that it is every bit as a bad as previous reviewers have said. It is the worst golf course I have every played, worse than any little city 9 hole course, worse than flat, open small town rural courses. There are 3 or 4 holes by the clubhouse that look vaguely like golf course holes, but once you head into the other holes you encounter holes with poor quality fairways and no roughs whatsoever, just 4-6 foot weed beds on either side. You miss the fairway, you lose your ball. Everything from the tee boxes to the fairways to the greens are poorly maintained. Many of the fairways were not even grass; more like mowed clover and weeds. Many holes you could not see what you were shooting at. The greens were terrible. They were in such bad shape that on more than one occasion putts actually bounced across little ridges and pockets on the greens, and did not roll straight. My 13 year old son was with me, and has little golf experience, but even he was noticing how bad these greens were.

The hole layouts were bad too. The 16th hole, a par 3, was like a dogleg right. You couldn't even see the flag from the tee box on a par 3. How does one play a hole like that as a par 3 (with no rough)? In this way the course is difficult, but not for good golf reasons. Most holes are not really golf holes at all. All in all quite an awful course. I'd be embarrassed to have people play the course if I was the owner.

I was very much looking forward to a day of golfing...as it turned out, I wish I had not gone at all. This place was just awful! The staff was very unfriendly [when there is nobody at your golf course, you should probably be nice to the people who actually showed up to play]. This is a pitch & putt - so I am not comparing it to regular par 4 courses - but for a pitch & putt, it's not even fun. Get ready to play a 300 yard hole by hitting your pitching wedge 3 times in 3 different directions. It's like playing mini golf with a 9 iron. Don't even go here to practice your short game. It will make it worse, and make you feel worse about how you are playing. If this place was free, I wouldn't go back. Don't say I didn't warn you!

This has to be the worst course in the state of Wisconsin and probably in the midwest. It could be a neat little course, with some fun holes and good for kids/beginners but they do the absolute bare minimum to "maintain" the course, which is mow it. Don't hit your ball in the weeds. They're so tall and thick you can't get in to get them. I would actually be ok with the course, just to take my kids, if the price wasn't way out of kilter with the course. You could go to actual golf courses and pay less. Looks ok from the road but don't be fooled.
