Steel Canyon Golf Club, Atlanta, GA

Drove out from Gwinnett and it took about 30 minutes. When I arrived I had easy access to the club house and the staff was very friendly. Check in was easy and went to the first tee. After reading the previous reviews I was not expecting very much. Hit my first ball and as we drove to my ball I looked around and realized how steep this course was. This course is very hilly and has a lot of blind shots. I am a 13 handicap and shot a 68 and par is 61. Most of my problems were from the blind shots. a few par 4's you can drive the green but as they are blind shots I laid up so not to over do it. My favorite hole is the 8th which demands you hit it straight. The black tee is 179 yards while the white tee is 70 yards (no typo there is that big a difference). This is great because some of my friends are not very good so they can keep up.

The greens were a little sponge like on the first 5 holes then they harden up and make them a hell of a lot faster.

Overall a good course for the money but make sure you bring water because there is no shade at all and I played in 100 degree weather and the water stations were all empty.

Enjoyed playing this executive course. Was challenging enough to keep all of us (variety of handicaps) interested and having fun.
