This Course Has It All ........Great Place to Play

I don't quite understand Mr. Shouse's comments. This course has something for everyone. It has holes varying from 95yards all the way up to 633yards. There are 5 sets of tees on each hole to accommodate the Ladies....Seniors....and....The Young 'Limber-Backs'!
If you want to take on the Back Tee boxes...be prepared for 7000 yards of shot-making. The fairways and greens are both smooth and in good shape.
The Course has several amenities including a grill, a meeting room, putting green, a practice chipping area with trap and a driving range. The employees are extremely friendly and helpful. At $22 during the week and less for seniors....It's a good value.
After seeing Mr. Shouse's comments, I asked the Silo Run Management about his being told to get off the Driving range. I found out that the only time a comment was made to anyone on the Driving range was when they were discovered picking up range balls and putting them into a grocery bag. Maybe if Mr. Shouse hit a few more fairways, he would find more level hitting areas wherever he plays....and ....possibly wouldn't get into trouble trying to steal range balls!

My name is Fred English, Director of Golf at Silo Run. I challenge Mr. Wood to please contact me at 336.367.3133 to discuss your experience at Silo Run, the 2008 golf course of the year according to players, readers, and viewers of the Yadkin Ripple. My staff prides itself on customer service and making sure the overall experience is an enjoyable one. While I suspect Mr. Wood is an employee or disgruntled member of a rival course, I encourage you to contact me at your earliest convenience. Silo Run is unmatched in value, condition, and professionalism and I will stake my staff's service and friendliness against any in the state. The other course is not worth mentioning in the same sentence as Silo Run. Mr. Wood, I look forward to hearing from you.

love the course great views nice staff courteous and very professional. only drawback was there was an obnoxious drunk in the golf shop claiming to be the owner. overall very good experience minus the end....
May 4, 2009 I cannot echo fred's comments any further. the staff goes out of their way (both grounds and golf shop) to make sure you have a good time. All courses aerify their greens, and anyone that plays silo run on a regular basis knows their greens are second to none in speed and condition. As far as yadkin cc is concerned i played it once and it was a DUMP. weeds in the middle of greens, no sand in the traps, and the owner is an absolute @$!*%. no service whatsoever, ill never play yadkin cc again, what a waste of money

I havent played this course in a while and I just got in a round this labor day in the rain. A recurring trend for this course is that they completely loose their greens during the summer. If you want to play this course while the greens are good you have to play late fall or early spring. But, it takes forever for their fairways to come in so most of the spring you will be playing on a dead grass. The only real good time to play this course is in the late fall, but I dont know if their greens will recover in time this year! Its no way worth 25 much less 27 dollars!

This course is absolutely beautiful... it is also very affordable. surrounded by farm land and breath taking scenery, its by far my favorite course in the area. Noticable changes in every aspect of the course are quite obvious. improvements all around, not that anything was wrong before... this course has a down home type of feeling to it with extremely nice people in the proshop and on the course. you will use every club in your bag and be challenged the whole way around... a very impressive course, especially for the price

Silo Run is a wonderful golf course with wonderful employees. I have never seen a more beautiful course with such an inexpensive cost! Proshop and Maintenance employees are friendly and they work hard to keep their customers happy and to keep everything up to par (haha). Silo Run offers bunny hops at least once a week and they make it fun for everyone involved. Its a great atmosphere and a great course. I'd recommend it to anyone just starting out up to the most experienced player.

I really really liked this course. Fairways and greens were in excellent shape. This is a "must play" course. Very affordable. Staff very friendly. Met up with several golfers on the course who were extremely friendly and even met up with a couple of guys on the back nine who invited me to play the rest of the course with them. Challenging enough to make it interesting. I will play this course again and bring friends next time. This could become one of my favorite courses.

A good place

Silo Run is a nice place to golf. There really is not a flat piece of fairway, making it difficult on some holes. The price to play here is way too much. I have seen better courses with a cheaper price. Overall a decent place to play. The people that work there are the worst. They do not believe in customer service. I hit a bad shot off of 1 that went to the practice range. I went to get it and was told that they now owned the ball. That is wrong.

This course is a great value for the course conditioning that you get, as well as the design variety. No 2 holes are alike on this track. The front is one of the best 9-hole layouts in the area, IMO. The back side is quite challenging, as there are several blind tee shots (yardage books are mounted on every cart and come in handy on the back side). The 11th hole is more unique than any hole in this area - a TRUE risk/reward hole. This course is a must-play.

The employees are very unfriendly especially guys still in school or under the age of 25. Silo Run is also way too expensive for a golf course that is kept in such bad condition. The Yadkin Country Club cost literally half as much as Silo Run and is kept in way better condition. Everytime I've played at Silo Run they have to appoligize because they plug the greens and fill the holes with sand which makes putting next to impossible. Do not go here.

Great price for what you get. greens best in area, by far. played twice in june and both times course was excellent. ONLY drawback on fathers day weekend was loud drunk (owner) sitting outside pro shop yelling "MF" on every other sentence, and then calling people "N*gg*r" which i wish my 11 yo son wouldnt have heard. play there, but play in the morning when he isnt around which is what we did the other time and everything was great. love the course

Played in a benefit Sunday afternoon. Everything went well. The course was in good shape considering the rain. The greens were good. Huge tournament but we didnt have to wait much. Pro shop ran tournament very well. Pro did good job with organizing teams and scoring. Real nice course, real nice people, real nice price. Cant ask for anything more.

This is one of my favorites. great course wide open long holes. fairways and greens are always in good shape. there are a couple of fun par 3's. The only thing that ever upset me here was the guy that didnt know what he was doing when there was a rush of golfers and he made us wait 30 min extra instead of just starting us out on 10.

I play this course whenever I travel I-77 between Atlanta and Central New York. One thing that really stands out to me is the scenery. Im not that good of a golfer, so most any course is a challenge for me. No drunk owner whenever Ive played. Everyone there is friendly, and you cant go wrong with the price.

The course is in really good shape. But the design is a little weird. It is as if the person who designed the greens and the green complex did not talk to one another. It has a home brew feeling that way but it is a great value.

Good layout very friendly staff. Course needs some work in the fairways and some of the tee boxes. Greens in great shape and putting well.

I had a great time at this course. It will humble you if you think it will be a cake walk, but at the same time it will be loads of fun.

friendly folks and fun to play.
