I played this course for the first time today; teed off at 3:10. It is an interesting course. Plays long for a par 60. There are tricky holes which make it interesting not mentioning the sloping greens on every hole except 12 and 13. Hole 3 has a hidden green to the left along the canyon wall. It is easy to mistake the flag on the 5th hole (where I sent my first shot) thinking it is the 3rd green. Front 9 plays easier than back 9 but more chances for par and birdie on the back than the front. Definitely take your woods and driver (unless you pitch 110 yds and drive 4-iron 300 yds) and don't forget to rent a cart; you will need it for the back 9 (steep climb). Greens run very fast on this course. They are pot-marked because players do not repair the ball marks. The T-boxes are in less than average condition mostly because players do not repair divots despite the fact that the course provides sand/seed mix at every T-box (Look inside the green "AID" box). I am a beginner with high handicap but found the course enjoyable and challenging. Allow 3-4 hours; there are slow crowds ahead especially on the back 9 where you lose balls and have to retake shots - bring plenty of balls (I lost 5). Recommend you play at least a two-some so your buddy can watch where your ball lands on the long holes (I played single but the course was not crowded so I had time to look for my ball.)

Have a good round

Good place to work on short game - short to mid irons, pitching, chipping, and sand. Not good for working on putting. I did not like the greens. They are sloped and very fast. Even if your approach lands near the pin, the ball will roll away. No reward for an accurate approach.
