Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail At Hampton Cove, Owens Cross Roads, AL

Both courses are in TERRIBLE shape. It looks like no maintenance has been done in months.
Tee boxes have NO grass at all. Greens are burnt out. Again no grass around the greens just sand and crap. Traps... what can I say except THE WORST! Wash out, crap growing in them and not raked by the maintenance crew (if there is one) in months. They haven't even taken the time to just blow or do any maintenance to the fairways. NOT worth the money!

Enjoyable course to play for persons of all levels. Managers Brendon and Shane allow pets / dogs on the course - bring them out if that is your thing. Group in front of us let their dog run free a few times and in the trap / on the green which is a detractor and slows play. Snack bar has pretty good food. They have done some work on the lakes and couple of the fairways. RTJ is a good bunch of courses to play.

RTJ and Co. did an excellent job with this course. As you would expect with any of the rtj courses, it's very well laid out and offers a challenging yet very fun and beautiful experience. I've played courses all over the US and it's incredible to come back home and realize what gems we have here in Alabama. The course isn't perfect (very good but not immaculately groomed) but for the price that you can play it for you would be hard pressed to find a better deal out there. Played the course on 4-18-2012 for $42 (twilight rate).

Hampton Cove is a very nice, enjoyable golfing experience on the RTJ trail. A solid 4 star outing.

There were some good holes on this course. My favorite was #5 with nice elevation change and trees, bunkers, and water all providing the challenge. The overall effect of the course is somewhat muddled however it is challenging.
