Indigo Creek Golf Course Description

The 18-hole "Indigo Creek" course at the Indigo Creek Golf Club facility in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina features 6,744 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. The course rating is 72.9 and it has a slope rating of 140 on Bermuda grass. Designed by Willard C. Byrd, ASGCA, the Indigo Creek golf course opened in 1990. East Coast Golf Management manages this facility, with A.J. Sawyer, PGA as the Partner/General Manager/Golf Professional.

Not my favorite course to play in South Carolina. Probably will never play this one again. I thought that the greens were extremely slow and very bumpy. You never felt comfortable about a putt. I thought that the course was hard to figure out where to hit to. There were many doglegs that didn't give you a window to hit around the corner from. If you are a big hitter, the driver should stay in the bag for a lot of the par 4s, even one of the par 5s. I think if I would have had a rangefinder, or a Skycaddie I would have done better. If you have a rangefinder, use it, I thought the distances were off on many holes.

Beautiful and Narrow

Indigo Creek is well-maintained and a beautiful (and challenging) course to play. Narrow (but relatively short), it punishes mishits.

Good Course

I played this course in Mid June and though short this course offers plenty of challenges and surprises. You definitely need to be straight and accurate, not much room for error. Pick up a monster coupon book, they have a $20 off coupon.
