Paradise Lake Golf Course, Morgantown, WV

I really enjoyed having the owner ride around and pretty much tell my group that we were to slow and that we were holding up his members when we were waiting on members in front of us the whole 9 holes we respected them and waited an appropriate mount of time before teeing off so we wouldn’t hit the group in front of us 10 out of 10 recommended if you want to be treated like a piece of @$!*% the staff is terrible and the members act like they can take there time and have an @$!*% out on the course

Course is not bad! Fairways are decent but the greens are in really good shape. Ownership is rude to non regulars. One time we were the only group that was requested to leave our drivers license for the carts out of the 3-4 that went before and after us. Once we were continuously accused of driving in a cart path only zone although we were still on the tee box of the hole. The course and price isnt bad overall though.

Paradise Lake is a public 9-hole that has plenty to offer. It’s above average for a short public course in all respects - maintenance, value and overall experience.

The fairways are generally very wide, flat and open, except for a few very narrow tree lined holes. There is one Par 5, three Par 3’s and five Par 4’s. The longest hole on the course is 467 yards and the shortest is 160 yards. There are three tee boxes.

Here’s a few things to keep an eye out for on the more difficult holes.Hole #3 can make or break your score. It’s 170 yards with a narrow fairway with dense trees on both sides, make sure to aim right. Hole #5 (179 yards) is a blind shot on a straight fairway that doglegs right at the end. Hole #6 (367 yards) is a tight fairway with dense treelines on both sides that creep onto the right (aim right to land on the green.)

There’s no bunkers on the course, and most holes are very open, so it’s a good course for junior and beginner golfers. The maintenance is good but could be improved, as there are a few points where the green runs into the fairway. Pace of play is good on this course (about 3.5 hours for 18 holes.)

This course is best avoided on the weekends since it’s popular and gets busy. First thing in the morning on a weekday is an ideal tee time. The amenities are bare bones - there’s no restroom or driving range. Bring your own snacks. Courses also run perpendicular to each other in spots, so watch out for balls flying in from other fairways. The price for a round is good - $20 for 18 holes with a cart.
