Played this course fairly recently, and unfortunately wish I hadn't. I will admit, I got a heck of a deal (or so I thought) and played the course on Saturday morning for $20 after picking up an online tee time from GolfNow.com. The parking lot was empty when I showed up, which is usually a bad sign. The club house was old, musty, and out-dated with no real signs of effort on the part of the staff. The layout of the course was actually pretty interesting, and there were a few fun holes along the way. This was far outweighed by the horrible conditions the greens, fairways, and tee boxes were in. There wasn't a single green without multiple dry patches, and the fairway was mostly hard-pan with spotted grass mixed in.

I agree with previous comments that, with the help of a large sum of money, this course could be very enjoyable. The carts were in good shape, and the GPS feature was very helpful. The layout of the course is very open, and if it were in better condition it would be well-worth visiting. As for now, I would spend a few more dollars and play one of the other courses San Antonio has to offer.

Although in years past we enjoyed this course, I don't know how it stays open now. A cow pasture would be better to play on. It is in total disrepair, ugly, unkempt, and the six owners are looking to sell it. Good luck to them, because they are going to lose their shirts. It would take a couple of million to bring this course back up to par. We played it Aug. 2011, but unless someone is so foolish as to buy it, we will never play it again, even if they charged just $10. Play one of the munies, if you can't afford something more. They are in FAR better shape. Even the clubhouse is old, ugly, obviously LONG past its heyday, and the help isn't much better. PASS THIS ONE UP, FOLKS!!!!!

I would like to think this course has seen better days because it can't get much worse than what I played on. The "fairways" consisted of an abundance of weeds, hardpan dirt, mud, and small patches of grass. The greens were fast, but because they had not been properly cut, the ball bobbled along like it was running overrough concrete.

This was literally one of the worst courses I have ever played and I have played my share of doozies.

Nice Course. GPS on the carts was nice when choosing a club. Fairways were nice, scenery was good. Greens were in pretty poor shape. A worker was telling me that they were still trying to recover from a big tournament they had a month or two before. The greens were rough, bumpy, and inconsistent at best. I would say overall it was an okay experience. It was semi-expensive but fairly reasonable.

This course was in extremely poor condition. For a few bucks you can go play much better courses. Probably a good track for beginners. The only thing missing on the fairways were the goats. The bartender tried to charge me a $1 to fill up my water bottle after buying a couple of beers!

GPS in the carts were wonderful. Distance of the holes are deceiving. Front nine was pretty sandy, i think they had just reseeded, back nine was much nicer. I would play it again. Played in March of 2009

Great course. Tough greens with the wind. It was like putting on concrete. Lots of fun, with easy fairways to hit.
