Course is Good, but the staff go out of their way to assume you are shady, they won't let you check in or get your cart until 15 mins prior to your tee time when you book after 3pm. They are paranoid you will tee off early. No cash is excepted anywhere either. I play Torrey Pines now instead.

Great course with some very challenging holes. Even harder with a litle wind in your face on a couple of holes.

When I played this course it wasn't in very good shape. Maybe it was more of all the hype I had heard about it and it kind of let me down. I do agree that the course is layed out in a great way and that this course does take some strategy. I suppose that for the drive from where I live, and the hassle with making a tee time, and the million divots on the fairway that weren't taken care of, and a rude foursome behind us, kind of ruined the experience of "golfin' at the Baker". I do expect to return when all the stars line up. I will not drive all the way down there to "just" play there. Maybe if I'm in the area, then it would be more worth it.

This is one of the best military courses that you will ever find. The club house and pro shop are firstclass. The course is fairly difficult with many challenges and hazards. Some shot are in the blind but if you remain in the farway you should score well.

Very good course and you can't beat it for the money.

Great course and more challenging than the South Course. Greens and fairways are in excellent condition. Staff is always helpful and professional. You can't beat the rates for such an outstanding golf course.

Best course I have ever played for $20. I have been in the navy 16 yrs and I wish that I had a corse that nice where I live for that military rate.

More challenging than the South Course. A lot more hills and blind shots if you try to clear the hills, which always seem so possible. Despite playing through a canyon not alot of elevated/lowered greens. A great military course though (you can only get on with either as a member of the armed forces or government worker or as their guest).

Great golf days at Admiral Baker

Certainly I am not an expert golfer but I do take lessons here and play regularly at both South and North Courses. Friends are always ready to come with me and everyone enjoys a day at Baker. Some tricky holes make for quite a challenge - I feel I have had my monies worth after a day here. Scenery and wildlife make it quite an event.

Great Course

Golf is supposed to be relaxing and enjoyable. At Baker it is this and more. Beginning with the extremely professional and helpful staff, and extending to the serenity of the course itself. In addition to the usual 18 holes of golf, one is often treated to a cornucopia of Mother Nature's gallery, like the family of deer that comes to graze in the rough or simply meander through the fairways. At time, coyotes, rabbits, and an occasional bobcat will appear. Egrets, hawks and other birds can be observed, as well.

The course is a fair test of golf skill. There are a few "par-able" holes (even for the 15 - 20 handicapper) and a few holes that even a scratch golfer will struggle over. As with all courses, if you hit it straight and chip and putt well, you will have a low score.

Most people like to play quickly (3 1/2 hours), however there are still those who think they are on the PGA tour and spend 2 or 3 minutes lining up each of their 112 shots.

All in all, Adm Baker is a great place to play golf (2 courses and excellent practice facility). A day at Baker will be an enjoyable one.
