The 18-hole "Ocean South" course at the Pelican Hill Golf Club facility in Newport Coast, California features 6,580 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 70. Designed by Thomas Fazio, ASGCA, the Ocean South golf course opened in 2007.
We played the South Course which gives great ocean views in the back nine. We absolutely loved this course! It was in fantastic condition, the views were awesome and the facility is just beautiful. Our caddy was extremely knowledgeable about the course, was extremely helpful and he had a great sense of humor. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Valet parking is complimentary and clubs are taken care of from the time they come out of the car until they are returned. The price is steep but it is worth the money.
Overrated. The service was awesome, the range was amazing, the views were incredible, but... parts of the course were in really bad shape and the pace of play was horrible. There was a foursome that was slowing up the entire course and the marshall was powerless to stop them. this group was golfing with a caddy and must have taken about 7 hours. For the $$$ you pay you should be able to finish in under 5.5 hours.
