Mather Golf Course , Mather, CA

I have learned to like this course. The snack bar is not as good as Wild Hawk or Teal Bend but its ok. The course maintenance has actually improved in the last year. The scenery is pretty good. One MAJOR MAJOR Complaint however is the rude staff. It’s not everybody just a few of the younger people. On more than on occasion two of them have given me and my friends an attitude for absolutely no reason, god forbid you ask a question like "can we T off on the back 9?" I really wish the management at this course would handle this and I in fact will be mentioning this to them the next time I see someone who is in charge out there. They also have an excellent PDP.

As a new golfer, I love this course! Well maintained, wide fairways and nice amenities. Resonably priced, and not too crowded.

MUST PLAY THIS COURSE.... Always in great condition, Pro Shop staff is always on top of their game, always willing to help and if they don't have a ball or club at a great price it doesn't exist, don't forget to order a burger for the back nine, You'll thank me later..... Great course, great value, and fun for all skill levels!!!!

Wow what a place to play...the price is like a short one, you cant beat it, the people in the pro shop are by far the best in the area...wait lets make it the best in the state....PLAYMATHER

Memory Lane

I learned to play at this course in '79 while learning to navigate airplanes at Mather. I just played it after a 27 year gap. The county has done a great job with the course. There are a couple of long Par 4's that I really enjoyed as a beginner and they were still fun to play. The course condition was really great, particularly considering the very reasonable fees. A great resource for locals and not a bad place for a tune-up round if you are destined to play a more challenging course. I used it for a warm-up before taking on Dark Horse.

Resort style fairways

For those who like resort style, wide fairways, this is the place to play. A former USAF base course, now a muni, the course is still well kept. The buildings are quite dated, and a recent fire destroyed the grill, but they have adapted nicely with an outdoor BBQ, coolers and lots of ice.

This is a relaxing course for those who just want to enjoy a day of golf.
