Madera Golf Course Description

The 18-hole "Madera" course at the Madera Golf Course facility in Madera, California features 6,833 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. The course rating is 71.3 and it has a slope rating of 119 on Bermuda grass. Designed by Bob Putman, the Madera golf course opened in 1991. Sierra Golf Management Co. manages this facility, with Dante Bacci, PGA as the Exec. VP Operations.

Played this course for the first time today and was really impressed. The course is very well maintained, the staff friendly and helpful, and the golf was terrific. All that for a really great price! We walked the course very handily. Plenty of restrooms and water available around the course (more than most in this area). My only gripe was the bunkers as they are more hard-packed sand (i.e. dirt) than sand traps. If the maintenance people spent a little time and money upgrading the bunkers this course would be almost perfect.

I really enjoy this course. It is just too far to drive on a regular basis. It has a full restaurant and bar and the staff is so nice. The greens are always kept up and the price is right.
