Fun little course, greens are pretty good, and VERY soft. The staff is usually friendly, but it is definitely not a "nice" course. It is a good place to practice for cheap.

Used to be a nicer course before homes were built there. Now you have to hit over roads (look both ways before you swing) so you play against the course AND the traffic! Rolltideroll48 is right about the range balls on hole #10.

Not a great course

Not really a great course. The fees are fairly pricey for what you get. Overall I would not recommend this course. Scoring low is not very hard and many of the par 4s are drivable. #10 is the worst hole I have ever played. I thought I hit a beautiful drive but gave up looking for my ball in the middle of a million range balls from people with a bad slice.

New to area

I'm pleased to say that after trying several courses in the area I now have a course I call "home". The club and parking area have an open inviting look and feel as you enter from the main road. I was greeted by course employees and and other golfers like they had known me for years. The pro shop was well stocked and just as friendly. The course is pleasing to the eye with several ponds, hills, trees and the Cahaba river running through the course. The holes are challanging but not overly difficult. The first hole has a tee shot over a pond but there is some fairway to go right. I don't hit many drives over 200yds and I had no problem keeping my ball in play. If you stay down and make contact the course will reward you. The fairways were in good shape and the greens very good. Every time I asked someone about playing Trussville Country club they answered,"they have the best greens". I was pleased to find soft bent grass greens that held the ball. I divot repair tool is a must! The grill is full service with good food.
