This is a fun course to play in a somewhat out of the way place. We've recently had a good amount of rain so maintenance looks to be just a bit behind. I found the greens to be in really good condition, though there were two that are in danger of grass loss. It's not a long course, but it's got some teeth. There are appreciable elevation changes throughout the course that make club selection a bit difficult. Having played it the first time today, I can't wait to go back with the knowledge that I gained about the layout.

I appreciate the staff. They do make one feel welcome. It's just got a lot of Southern Charm.

Poorly groomed greens, subpar fairways, and lack of amenities bring down a course that is overall a pleasant experience. Short holes, wide fairways, and large greens make for easy scoring. Great value if you come early, greens fees are good for entire day. Amenities are lacking, there are a couple of vending machines throughout but no turn or water fountains so be sure to bring drinks and a snack. Course was not crowded and staff was friendly. Enjoyable round and definitely worth playing twice. Hole of the course: The #3 and #17 par three are interesting holes, and with the drastic elevation change from the tee box these holes are fun and challenging. Both greens are surrounded by water and thick brush so if your first shot is off, odds are you will be dropping your next one.

good begineer course, and thats about it. ant mounds all over the place, even in the tee boxes. bugs are out of control, can't even putt without getting swarmed by hundreds of nats. Would be a nice course if they spend a little money at least doin somthin about the bugs. lots of elevation change which makes it interesting but thats about the best thing I can say. If they could keep their tee boxes and greens bug free I would play there constantly because it is a great price, maybe will be better in winter when nature takes car of the bugs for them.

For the money, this course is hard to beat. It seems golfers generally play this one fast though as my partner and I were more than once attacked by long drives. Maybe on reason is that it is located adjacent to the Univ. of Montevallo. One of the tougher characteristics of this course is elevation. The course was in real decent shape for the cost...a few weeds where there ought not to be, but groomed. I will go again though I would prefer more water fountains. There is no "turn" on this course either so bring snacks.

Course has improved greatly since Ed took over, but has a ways to go. Challenging, fun, inexpensive, very laid back. Not a walking course if you're not in shape!

greens were best I'd ever seen on this course last time out, fairways iffy as usual. Friendly, laid back staff. Layout is a little confusing at times. Has 2 nice par 3's that play waaaay downhill. Nice change of pace

Great course for the money. Good value and learning experience for the beginner golfer. Sometimes hard to tell where you are going due to an "interesting" layout.

Pretty fun course for the money. Greens were soft and held well. Some tight fairways but short holes made this a great course for the beginner or Sunday Duffer. Has continually improved course conditions over the years. What do you expect for $28 with a cart.

Decent value, but...

You get what you pay for. The fees are quite cheap. Some holes can be challenging to the casual golfer. The fairways are ok, just not wide enough on some holes. Bring your bug spray! When you are done with one hole, it could be difficult to get where the next one is. What is that about? It's like a maze!?! The greens are poorly maintained, and that'll cost you some strokes. If you are unfamiliar with the course, bring plenty of balls because sometimes you won't know where you're aiming.
