The greens and fairways are in good condition. There are no sand traps, but there are plenty of ponds, ditches, and trees to penalize errant shots and add challenge. The course is mostly level and laid out such that walking is pretty easy. Prices have recently increased to $18 for walking and $28 for riding, which is competitive for this area.

Great deal to walk 9 holes for $10. I like to walk the back 9, which has more trees. If they are not busy, it is like I am in my private park on the back 9.

I didn't have a great impression of the course. The maintenance was hit and miss. One hole would be excellent and the next dreadful. For my skill it was challengine enough. Overall I thought the price didn't reflect the condition of the course. I'll play it again just for a change of scenery. But if my second experience was like the first, I doubt I'll play it again.

Value Course Of The Huntsville Area

Everything about this course and the staff is very friendly! The Marshall will ride around and give a very warm "hello" and a great smile. The course is well maintained as is the course equipment. I think there a couple of ball washers that are inoperative, but that's about it.

The fairways are Bermuda. The greens have very little slope and are EXTREMELY fast.

This course needs some green and fairway bunkers. The mid-sized greens would make placement paramount. The greens need to be slowed down just a touch and a bit of slope added. With some bunkers and some slope of the greens, this could be a great course for the beginner to intermediate.

Overall though, it's definitely worth the very reasonable green fees. At 6200 yards from the championship tees, this course also makes an excellent walking course. Good course to go out on with the kids or a group of friends for a nice leisurely game of golf.
