2018 BMW Championship: Spectator Info

The 2018 BMW Championship heads to the Philadelphia suburbs and the Aronimink Golf Club September 6-9. The tournament is the third in the FedEx Cup Playoffs and open to the top-70 FedEx Cup points leaders. It is the last tournament before the Tour Championship and represents golfers’ last chance to move into the top 30 and qualify for this final event. All eyes will be on Bryson DeChambeau after he somewhat surprisingly won both preceding FedEx Cup Playoff events in the past two weeks. With his place in the Tour Championship secured, many wonder if he will be up for this event and if it will open the door for a new challenger heading into the final tournament.

The Aronimink Golf Club, founded in 1896, remains one of America’s most prestigious golf clubs. The course was designed in 1928 when the club relocated to its current location.  The course was designed by renowned architect Donald Ross and is known for its extensive use of strategic bunkering. For this reason, the course is considered one of the toughest on the PGA Tour. The club had earlier hosted the U.S. Open at a previous locations, but the Ross course had to wait until 1962 to host its first major, the PGA Championship. An extensive and recently finished renovation costing $4 million sees the course return to the big time as it hosts the penultimate FedEx Cup Playoff event.
