2018 U.S. Open: Who's Exempt?

The 2018 U.S. Open takes place June 14-17 at the Shinnecock Hills Golf Club located on Long Island, NY. It is the 118th edition of the tournament and one of golf’s four major championships. The event is open to any professional golfer or any amateur with a USGA Handicap of 1.4 or less. The entire field is 156 golfers, with about half earning their qualifications through regional tournaments in the U.S., England and Japan. The other half gain automatic qualification primarily through past performances. The following is a list of all the different exemptions and the players automatically qualified for the 2018 U.S. Open through those exemptions. When a golfer is exempt through multiple ways only his first exemption is listed.
