Video Golf Tip | Hybrid Chipping

I found myself around the green here, not a lot of rough, pretty thin area, and it is kind of a scary shot because if I do not hit this perfectly with my wedge I can skull it, I can chunk it right in front of me here, pretty scary shot. Another option for you, using your rescue club, or a three wood, the ball is going to be struck like a putter. You are going to take your putting grip, putting stance and posture and now make a putting stroke. Now you need to practice this a little bit because the face of the club is a little bit hotter than a putter so the ball will tend to run a little bit more. You just need a little bit of practice. I want to show you how creative this shot is. When you hit the ball it will get up in the air just a bit and you will see it, then the ball will roll all the way to your target and it will be very effective and very easy. Now here is where some of the magic comes into this shot. Let's say I just missed the green, the ball is sitting in the rough and it is down just a little. Use the same technique, it is wonderful and it is so easy to use. Take the same putting grip, you saw the ball pop up a little bit and roll towards the target. This shot is one that around the green you can show that you have some creativity and imagination. You do not need to hit your lob wedge all the time and this makes the shots around the green so simple.
