Control Trajectory to Hit High or Low Golf Shots
By Mike McGetrick, Lana Ortega | © Golf Tips Magazine

One of the basics of shotmaking is understanding the art of applying spin to the golf ball in special ways. If you understand the way in which spin influences the flight of the ball, you'll have a better chance at intentionally applying that spin when you need it. Because the shortest route between your ball and the target isn't always a straight line, being able to curve the ball at will is a must for maximizing your scoring potential.

Cure For Push Shots: Bad Finish Keep your left arm connected to your body during the finish so that your arms can not swing out and push the ball out to the right
Ball Position Your ball position moves away from you on an angle the longer the club you are using, your sand wedge will be in the center of your stance closest to your body and your driver will be on your left instep further away from your body
Takeaway: Half Way Back On your takeaway, when your club is half way back the shaft should be parallel to the ground and the clubhead should be even with your hands, not inside or outside of your target line
