Nike Shoe NZ SI Review

Nike Shoe NZ SI Review
Specs

The Nike Shox NZ SI running shoes are a mixture of style and functionality. They have a mesh and synthetic nylon material shell with a BRS 1000 carbon rubber outer sole. This sole has a circular "waffle" tread for traction. The inner sole (midsole) is injected with Phylon material for added support and shock absorption. The sole also has the Nike Shox development, which provides columns of support and extra cushion for your footfalls. They are available in men's, women's and children's shoes.

Perks

The column-style shock-absorbing system in the heel will give you more cushion and make you feel like your are running on air. This system works great for those who land harder on their heels. The carbon-rubber soles give up little in terms of traction, plus the shoes are very well made. The Nike Shox system also gives runners a little jolt in each step, which makes running easier.

Sacrifices

The Nike Shox running shoes must be broken in at first because the Shox system is designed to work even after a lot of wear and tear. The treads on these shoes will not handle a muddy slope, but then again, they are made for running. Those who are expecting a lot of lift from these shoes might be disappointed; they are designed to cushion, not spring board.

Bottom Line

For heavy runners, these shoes can't be beat in terms of cushioning your heel. There are many shoes that offer claims to soften the impact of running, but these shoes deliver in a lightweight package.

Golf Equipment Tip of the Day

Using Frequency to Test the Flex of Your Shafts
by Jeff Jackson
What's the flex of your shafts? At one time, a golfer could safely answer that his or her shafts were stiff, regular or ladies flex. That simply isn't the case any longer. Most manufacturers have their own method of shaft measurement. What this means is that one company's "R" flex shaft may actually be softer than another's "A" or even "L" flex. How, then, can a golfer select the appropriate shaft if no manufacturing standard exists? In a word: frequency.
