Reviews of Wilson Pro Staff Golf Clubs

Wilson Pro Staff 5 Wood
Specs

This complete set of golf clubs is one of the best on the market, providing the golfer everything he needs to get started or improve his game. The Wilson Pro Staff Full Set has a driver with a 460cc head and a swept footprint providing a higher MOI. The low center of gravity in all the woods helps shoot the ball off the face for better accuracy and good distance. The 3 and 4 hybrids are easier to hit than the equivalent long irons and are a nice complement to an improving golfer. They react very well out of any lie. The stainless steel irons provide a nice alignment topline. The woods and hybrids come with graphite shafts while the irons are True Temper steel. All have soft grips for better feel during contact, and the price is a reasonable $300 for the a golf set that comes with the driver, 3 and 5 woods, 3 and 4 hybrid and 5 through PW. You will need to get any other wedges you like, a putter and bag to carry these.

Perks

Wilson Pro Staff 5 Wood Wilson Pro Staff 5 Wood

Every club feels the same in your hand, with comfortable contact off the club face. The performance of the hybrids is really worth the cost of the whole set--they launch your ball out of any tight lie.

Sacrifices

Wilson Pro Staff Hybrid Wilson Pro Staff Hybrid

Building so much forgiveness in each club does not leave much workability. The irons were easier to get a fade or draw, but not as much as needed at times.

Bottom Line

A good set of clubs for the price. If you want to move to a better set than those Walmart clubs you bought or the old ones given to you by a friend, these are for you.

Golf Equipment Tip of the Day

Using Frequency to Test the Flex of Your Shafts
by Jeff Jackson
What's the flex of your shafts? At one time, a golfer could safely answer that his or her shafts were stiff, regular or ladies flex. That simply isn't the case any longer. Most manufacturers have their own method of shaft measurement. What this means is that one company's "R" flex shaft may actually be softer than another's "A" or even "L" flex. How, then, can a golfer select the appropriate shaft if no manufacturing standard exists? In a word: frequency.
