The Ritz-Carlton is the highest rated hotel in the quarter with its four and a half star rating. This big name hotel located off of Canal Street offers a spa, restaurant and all the amenities that come standard with the Ritz-Carlton name. The only drawback is its distance from local attractions as it is located on the edge of the French Quarter. Most of these attractions can be reached after a walk of about 15 minutes, depending on your destination.

There are four four-star hotels in the French Quarter beyond the Ritz-Carlton for those looking for upper-class lodging; however, there are no five-star hotels in the district.
