Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (GSP) is located in South Carolina on Interstate 85 a little over an hour away from Asheville. Allegiant Air, one of the discount carriers that serves communities in smaller airports, runs to Greenville-Spartanburg. About 90 minutes from Tiger Woods' The Cliffs at High Carolinas, the airport is easily accessible, clean and manicured. Other airlines flying into Greenville-Spartanburg on a daily basis include American Eagle, Delta, Continental, United Express, US Airways and Northwest. The drive to Asheville for those playing the Western North Carolina courses is a beautiful route up into the Great Smoky Mountains. Golfers looking for a bigger choice of flights often use the Charlotte, North Carolina location and drive up into the mountains. The airport is located just off Interstate 85 and is an easy drive to Asheville. Golfers going into Asheville will pass courses in Black Mountain and Hickory, North Carolina.
