The Ritz-Carlton is the highest rated hotel in the quarter with its 4-1/2 star rating. This big-name hotel located off Canal Street offers a spa, restaurant and all the amenities that come standard with the Ritz-Carlton name. The only drawback is its distance from local attractions, as it is located on the edge of the French Quarter. Most of these attractions can be reached after a walk of about 15 minutes, depending on destination.

There are four four-star hotels in the French Quarter beyond the Ritz-Carlton for those looking for upper-class lodging. However, there are no five stars in the district. The other four-star hotels include La Pavillon Hotel, the Roosevelt New Orleans, Iberville Suites and the Renaissance Per Marquette Hotel.
