Breakfast Restaurants in Denver
The Denver area is dotted with public golf courses, including the award-winning Red Hawk Ridge, Fossil Trace and Ridge at Castle Pines. Before you go for a game, indulge in a hearty breakfast at a local restaurant. Branch out with creative fare such as eggs with guacamole in a breakfast wrap; French toast made with liqueur; or a savory portobello Florentine. Take your golf friends with you so you can order more items and share them all.

Dixons Downtown Grill

Dixons serves innovative cuisine in a historic building. You can sit among Mission-style furnishings, enjoy a bloody Mary if you're so inclined and work on the hard part: deciding what to order among the enticing choices. Dishes with a Southwestern influence are especially popular, such as the breakfast burrito with potatoes, bacon and green chilies; eggs and guacamole wrapped in a tortilla; and an omelet filled with Anaheim chilies and white cheddar cheese. Other options include steak and eggs; a scrambled egg sandwich with ham and cheese; and skillets with hash browns, eggs and veggies. If eggs aren't your thing, try the French toast made of challah bread, oatmeal served with Swiss fruit bread, or the buttermilk pancakes with or without fruit, granola or chocolate chips.

The Burnsley Restaurant

Indulge in an upscale breakfast at The Burnsley Restaurant, located in the downtown Burnsley Hotel. When it's crowded at the hotel, the restaurant serves a lavish brunch, but otherwise you'll find a delectable breakfast menu. Try the savory omelet with sauteed shallots and goat cheese, or the Eggs Benedict with Canadian bacon and a flavorful Hollandaise sauce. Some patrons keep returning for the French toast made with Grand Marnier and served with bacon, ham or sausage. The buttermilk pancakes and the Belgian waffles are crowd pleasers as are the oatmeal and the biscuits and gravy, both served with fresh fruit.

Ellyngton's

Ellyngton's is another elegant breakfast and brunch spot located in a hotel (the Brown Palace). A lot of people enjoy the specialties such as creamed chipped beef on grilled sourdough; corned beef hash with poached eggs; and eggs Florentine with portobello mushrooms and wilted spinach. Others like to create their own omelets by choosing fillings such as meats, cheeses and veggies. Other popular choices are the Greek frittata with feta cheese and caramelized onions, and the Spanish skillet with chorizo and green chilies. Griddle favorites include buttermilk pancakes, Belgian waffles and French toast made of egg bread or cinnamon-raisin bread.
