Golf Courses Near Atlanta, Georgia
With weather mild enough for year-round play, Atlanta is a prime destination for golfers. The summers do get hot, though, so choose a morning or late afternoon tee time during these months. The city has many challenging and scenic courses to play and the broad layout of Atlanta means you can find a good place to play no matter where you stay.

Bobby Jones Golf Club

This course provides many excellent views of the Atlanta skyline and is located in the upscale Buckhead section of the city. The club also includes an indoor driving range and a place to practice your short game in front of the clubhouse. The fairways are average-sized, but the course has several hills that can create havoc. Few sand bunkers and no water hazards make this a fairly easy course for experienced golfers.

Browns Mill Golf Course

You can get to the Browns Mill Golf Course from downtown Atlanta in just 10 minutes without traffic. A handful of lakes can give you trouble on the front nine, but the fairways are wide enough to be very forgiving. Facilities include an 11-station driving range and a pro shop stocked with brand-name equipment and attire.

Wolf Creek Golf Club

This course is just 10 minutes away from Atlanta's busy airport. The course is notable for being quite diverse and offers both rolling hills and much flatter terrain. Some areas are very marshy and water obstacles come into play on 10 holes. Wolf Creek also has two peninsular greens, but the good news is that these two holes are only par-3.

Stone Mountain Golf Course

Just outside of Atlanta, but still close enough to see the city skyline, is the Stone Mountain Golf Course. Even more breathtaking than the skyline is the view of Confederate soldiers carved into the side of the gigantic boulder. The Stonemont Course was designed by Robert Trent Jones. Both the Stonemont and Lakemont Course are incredibly beautiful and filled with an abundance of wildlife. Reservations are taken up to 7 days in advance and since this is a very popular golf club, you may need all 7 days to get your best tee time.
