San Antonio, Texas, is a tourist hot spot, thanks to area landmarks like The Alamo, San Fernando Cathedral and La Villita. In addition, the area features a number of pristine golf courses, including La Cantera Resort, the Quarry Golf Club and the Republic. Of course, there are a number of attractions just outside the San Antonio city limits as well.
Schlitterbahn Waterpark Resort
Located about 20 minutes north of San Antonio, the original Schlitterbahn is one of the largest water parks in the nation. In addition to the original park, Schlitterbahn has added two mini-parks and a shuttle service to transport patrons. Highlights of a Schlitterbahn trip include water slides, river-style tubing, hot tubs with swim-up bars, and body surfing. Plus, during the holiday season, the park morphs into a Christmas wonderland of sorts, complete with ice skating and Christmas-themed gift shops.
