Family Friendly Hotels in Las Vegas

Family Friendly Hotels in Las Vegas
Las Vegas is usually associated with adult-themed fun like gambling and drinking, but it is also a great destination for a family golf trip. Of course, children are not permitted in the gaming areas, so make sure you have a babysitter or family member willing to watch the kids if you plan to gamble during your vacation. Still, there are numerous hotels that cater to families and offer kid-friendly activities and attractions both on and off the Strip.

Excalibur

The Excalibur hotel and casino is shaped like a large castle and has several Medieval-themed attractions inside. If you have a few hours to spend away from the golf course, take your kids to the Tournament of Kings dinner show, which features knights, dragons and damsels in distress. The Fantasy Faire midway has a variety of carnival games where children can win prizes. There is also a video arcade and the Spongebob Squarepants 4-D ride.

You can save money on meals for the family by purchasing all-day passes at the Excalibur buffet. For a one-time fee, you are given a wristband that allows you to return as many times as you wish during the open buffet hours. Tee times are discounted if you book through the hotel and play at one of these affiliated golf courses: Bali Hai Golf Club, Royal Links Golf Club or Desert Pines Golf Club.

Circus Circus

From the moment you see the tent-shaped roof of Circus Circus, you know the hotel is designed to appeal to kids. The Adventuredome theme park features carnival games, thrill rides, rock climbing, bungee jumping, mini-golf and a video arcade. The hotel is affiliated with the same group of golf courses as the Excalibur, so be sure to book tee times through the concierge desk. If you want to eat a great steak when you return from the golf course, head over to the Circus Circus steak house, one of Las Vegas' local favorites.

The Orleans

The Orleans has a Kids Tyme activity center where children can play while being supervised by staff members certified in first aid and CPR. The play area includes video games, an indoor playground, and an arts and crafts workshop. You are required to stay in the hotel building while your kids are at Kids Tyme, but you are free to visit the casino, have a romantic meal or take in a show on the premises during your break from the kids.

The Orleans also has a 70-lane bowling center with a full-service pro shop, cocktail bar and snack bar. The hotel is about one mile west of the Strip on Tropicana, but there is a free shuttle that takes guests to the Gold Coast or Bill's Gamblin' Hall.
