Located in the Western central part of Utah, Moab is a quiet and scenic desert town on the Utah countryside. With a population of under 8,000, it is home to the Canyonlands and Arches National Park and is located around 4,000 feet above sea level. The city has a history that dates back to the 1890s and today is home to a branch campus of Utah State University and to the Moab Golf Club, which boasts the top golf courses in the region.

The hotel is only two miles from the Millers Shopping Center and only six miles from the Moab Golf Club, which is also a a 6,820-yard course from the longest tees that offers a par-72 layout. The River Canyon Lodge is located off of Hwy 191 and North Main Street, and is just a few minutes drive from the area's main hospital. With 80 rooms stretched over three floors, the hotel has amenities including refrigerators, hairdryers and separate bath tubs and showers in each room, as well as two heated pools and a whirlpool. Also located within 20 minutes driving of the Moab Golf Club, the hotel and the course offer scenic views of the nearby mountains, and the golf course is surrounded by red cliffs and canyons.
