Blue Heron Pines
Blue Heron Pines is a semi-private golf course located in Punta Gorda. Situated around a handful of ponds and lakes, Blue Heron is a very aesthetically pleasing course to play. There is a varied construction to the fairways, with some being quite wide and others very narrow. Two of the most interesting holes on the course both feature a double green. The course presents a relatively painless walk due to the flat terrain, but beware of soggy spots after a typical Florida downpour. The dress code bans cut-offs and tank tops.

Deep Creek Golf Club
Deep Creek Golf Club provides a great game of golf as long as it hasn't rained recently. This is a problem with many Florida courses, and the multiple water hazards at Deer Creek don't help the situation. When the sun is shining, however, Deer Creek provides exceptional play on a challenging course marked by thick woods that swallow balls gone off-course by sudden gusts of wind. Fees are reduced on weekdays and during the low period from April to December. Metal spikes are allowed, but denim is not. Call ahead up to two days in advance for tee time reservations.
