Outrigger Waipouli Beach Resort & Spa
Located on the sunny south side of Kauai, just north of the bustling tourist area of Poipu, the Waipouli Beach Resort & Spa is a moderately-priced resort with condo-style guest rooms that include full kitchens. Water features are the showpiece of the resort, including a lazy river, flumed water slides and sand-bottomed pools and whirlpools.
There is an Aveda spa and salon, and an "explorer" program, where families can learn about Hawaii's flora, fauna, wildlife and tides. Located in Lihue on a tiny crescent of protected beachfront, the Kauai Marriott Resort & Beach Club has a gigantic scalloped pool area with a small island of palm trees at its center. The pool is surrounded by five separate whirlpools and there is also a dedicated toddler pool. The beach is kid friendly, with calm waters and great sand for building castles.
The spacious guest rooms have balconies and are decorated in contemporary style. Cribs and rollaways are available. The resort has an onsite luau, spa, fitness center and golf at two Jack Nicklaus-designed golf courses.
