Jerome Grand Hotel
The Jerome Grand Hotel in Jerome, Arizona, was originally built as a hospital in 1926 until it closed in 1950. The building stood vacant until 1994, when it was completely restored, keeping much of its Spanish mission-style architecture intact. At an elevation of 5,240 feet, the Jerome offers a spectacular view of the Verde Valley below. The hotel is reputed to be haunted, so ghost hunting tours take place on many weeknights. For golf, the Pine Shadows Golf Course is in nearby Cottonwood.

The Gadsden Hotel
The Gadsden Hotel in Douglas first opened in 1907 before Arizona attained statehood. It was destroyed by fire in 1929 but was soon rebuilt. Over the years, guests such as Eleanor Roosevelt have stayed at the Gadsden and scenes from several movies have been filmed there. The Gadsden eventually fell into disrepair until it was acquired by new owners in 1988. The hotel is known for the "Gadsden Ghost," a faceless figure of a man that is said to roam the premises. You can golf in Douglas at Douglas Municipal Golf Course.
