Mirage
The Mirage Resort and Casino was once the home to Siegfried and Roy, but today it just houses the lions. The hotel is right next door to Caesar's Palace on the north side. Guests can choose from a deluxe room, a suite with more than 800 square feet of space or a villa that offers the ultimate experience in Vegas opulence with anywhere from 1,750 square feet of space to more than 4,500. You have your own private backyard with a lap pool and exclusive golf privileges at Shadow Creek, a Tom Fazio-designed desert masterpiece. Back in the real world, you can choose from popular Vegas entertainers, dozens of restaurants, shopping and the Jet Nightclub, which is one of the hottest in Vegas.

Bellagio
Head south from Caesar's Palace, and the next casino you'll encounter on the west side of Las Vegas Boulevard is the fabulous Bellagio. It gets a lot of attention for the dancing waters that put on hourly shows for guests and tourists alike, but the real show is inside. The hotel is all about classic Italian luxury with five-diamond amenities including delicate room interiors featuring plush bedding, soft fabrics, muted colors and panoramic views of the strip and the courtyard. By far the largest room that the Bellagio offers its guests isn't a room at all but a three-bedroom, seven-bathroom 8,000-square-foot monster with an in-suite exercise room, salon, massage room, a fully stocked bar and a private terrace. The bars and restaurants in the Bellagio tend to be a little more upscale without the wild edge you'll find at lesser resort casinos.

The Rio
The Rio isn't actually on the strip, but if you look out the back of Caesar's Palace and across Interstate 15, it's the closest hotel you'll see. With one of Vegas' best buffets, all-suite rooms and a hot poker scene, the Rio has slowly become a star of the casino hotels. With more than 600 square feet of space per room, it's not hard to understand why the Rio is a popular choice. There's a whole host of restaurants in the hotel to choose from, including Martorano's, which serves homestyle Italian. There's shopping, Voodoo Beach--a pool area with actual sand beaches--and two courses that Rio guests get preferential treatment at, Cascata and Rio Secco.
