Theme Park Hotels in Las Vegas

Theme Park Hotels in Las Vegas
A well-known golf destination with courses ranging from the traditional to the target-golf variety, Las Vegas is also the home of thrills. Some Strip hotels have taken thrill-seeking to a new level with amusement park attractions right on the property. These range from the sedate and the major thrill rides at Circus Circus, to the G-force ride at the Stratosphere or the New York New York roller coaster. Golfers will find packages at some hotels and a wide variety of courses to choose from, either on the Strip or within a half-hour drive.

Circus, Circus

A value hotel located on the north end of the Strip in Las Vegas, Circus Circus features an "Adventuredome," which is a covered amusement park with rides ranging from a merry-go-round to bumper cars to a swinging ship and a roller coaster. There is a fee to enter the park and guests may purchase day passes or individual ride tickets. The park is open daily, at 11 a.m. Mondays to Thursdays and 10 a.m. Fridays to Sundays. The hotel has partnerships with the Bali Hai, Desert Pines and Royal Links golf clubs.

New York New York

A high-end Strip hotel on the corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Tropicana, New York New York has the most stunning roller coaster in town. The outdoor ride rises 203 feet in the air, features a barrel roll and reaches 67 miles per hour. Riding it at night is especially scary. With the faux New York skyline as its backdrop, the coaster is the only theme-park attraction at the hotel and tickets may be purchased for individual rides or as an all-day pass. The hotel even offers wedding packages on the coaster. For golfers, New York New York has partnerships with the Bali Hai, Desert Pines and Royal Links golf clubs, and offers packages featuring rounds at these courses.

Stratosphere

A value hotel located at the north end of the Strip, the Stratosphere's observation tower is the tallest in the United States and offers sweeping views of the Las Vegas Strip and mountains. The tower is the central attraction of the hotel's adult rooftop theme park, which features a giant teeter-totter that rocks over the edge of the building and a sling shot ride that shoots passengers straight up over the Strip at 45 miles per hour. On the "Insanity" ride, passengers are dangled over the Strip and spun to a force of 3Gs. Attractions are open daily and rides require individual tickets, though some packages are available.
