Bailey Island Hotels
Located 10 miles out in Casco Bay, Bailey Island is a summer destination for Maine locals, and those from outside the state fortunate enough to know about it. The island was first inhabited in the 1600s and was thought to be a place where pirates buried their treasure. Today, treasure shows up in the diversity of accommodations available to visitors. While the closest golf course is located less than a mile away by air, you actually have to drive close to 20 miles back to the mainland and out to get to Mere Creek Golf Club located in Brunswick.

Driftwood Inn

Built more than a century ago, the Driftwood Inn and Cottages on Bailey Island is the oldest inn on the island. During that more than a century, the place has never left the hands of the Conrad family. The Inn has a variety of rooms, from single rooms with a queen or double bed to combination rooms with two double beds, a double and a single and two doubles. About half of the 25 rooms they offer have half baths, the others with a sink. There also are cottage accommodations that all have full, private baths, kitchens and decks. The Inn also provides breakfast and dinner options for their guests, but the restaurant also is open to the public, so make a reservation is you want to make sure you get to eat when you want.
