Funeral Home Golf
Do you ever feel like you love golf more than life? You'll need to be careful at Ahlgrim Family Funeral Services. Downstairs, there's a handmade miniature golf course, open to the public. Upstairs, there's a fully functioning funeral home. Why? The answer stems from the community interests of the home's founder, but the important thing is the chance to golf in a odd, spooky, but pretty fun environment. Golf's not allowed when funeral business is conducted, so be sure to call before making a visit.

Surgeon's Study
What you expect to find on Chicago's Gold Coast: lavish mansions and expensive cars. What you don't: a museum dedicated to cutting people up and sewing them together. Yet that's just what the International Museum of Surgical Science offers. Exhibits cover the history of surgery and modern procedures, and include some truly frightening instruments and extremely unsettling pictures. Best of all, there are programs for kids.
