Canyon is a city in Randall County, Texas, in the northern central part of the state. The city is the home of West Texas A&M University and lies along Interstate 60. A town of only five square miles, it is also the home to the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum and Palo Duro Canyon State Park. The city and the surrounding areas, which include nearby Amarillo, Texas, have a number of golf courses, such as Canyon Country Club, Palo Duro Creek Golf Club and Preston West Golf Course.
