Lexington, Kentucky, manages to combine the best of small town living with the cosmopolitan feel of a much larger city. That big city atmosphere is due to the influx of college students at the nearby University of Kentucky, but even more so because of the high rollers who come here for the horse racing that is centered around the town's proximity to Louisville, home of the Kentucky Derby. For this reason, many fine hotels can be found in Lexington, as well as bluegrass golf courses.
Crowne Plaza
The very name Crowne Plaza guarantees luxury and elegance as well as comfort. The beds are plush and the linen is high quality. A mini-refrigerator is included in the suites as well as a soft terry robe. The fitness center was renovated in 2005 and its state-of-the-art exercise gear is available 24 hours a day. The best feature about Lexington's Crowne Plaza for golfers, however, is the discount offered at three nearby golf courses: Kearney Hill, Quail Chase and the Gay Brewer Club. Discounts include free club or cart rental depending on the course you choose.
