Top Chinese Restaurants in Houston, Texas
If you're hungry after a game of golf in Houston, head to one of the city's top Chinese restaurants. You'll find a variety of traditional dishes as well as innovative preparations using fresh, local ingredients. You can just enjoy the delicious cuisine, or if you're a sports buff, you can even eat a Chinese meal while you watch a big-screen game.

Fung's Kitchen

Fung's specializes in Hong-Kong style dim sum---small plates that let you sample a wide variety of cuisine. Start with some steamed dishes, such as shrimp dumplings, barbecued pork buns and tofu rolls with veggies. Branch out to the delectable fried fare including pork puffs, curry beef pie and crispy egg rolls.

That's just the beginning of the fun. Be sure to try noodles with shrimp and tofu, or savory rice soup with pork and egg. And don't depart without sampling the custards---take your pick of green tea egg custard or the popular mango pudding.

888 Bistro

888 Bistro combines an extensive menu and an attentive wait staff happy to answer any questions. The mouthwatering fare starts with the appetizers such as smoked duck, salmon lettuce wraps and sesame noodles. You can then go on to inviting grilled platters such as shrimp or red snapper, or sizzling platters featuring tofu or chicken satay.

Carnivores will love dishes such as orange beef and pork with scallions, and vegetarians can enjoy garlic eggplant or sesame tofu. Leave room for carbs, too. You'll want to try the veggie or shrimp fried rice, chicken or beef lo mein or the spicy noodle soup with seafood.

Yao Restaurant & Bar

Head to Yao for good food and sports decor. Basketball star Ming Yao's parents offer authentic Chinese cuisine in the restaurant as well as the bar, where you can watch sporting events while you eat.

The appetizers are so fun you may want to make a meal of them. Order pork dumplings, crab won ton, and shredded chicken and cucumber. But also try a steaming bowl of soup---either hot and sour, or beef with vegetables. Signature entrees include orange peel chicken, Mongolian beef, mu shu pork and crunchy walnut shrimp. Vegetarians have choices such as tofu and string beans in garlic soy sauce, and eggplant with jalapenos and red peppers.
