Ballybunion
Ballybunion was founded 1893 and can be found on the western edge of Ireland. When you play golf here you not only get to enjoy fairways and roughs so green they almost hurt to look at, but you feel the spay of the Atlantic Ocean on your face as the waves crash onto the nearby shores. The course is challenging due to its construction across dunes that force high chips and cause fast rolling balls that never quite break the way you think.

Lahinch Golf Club
Located in County Clare, Lahinch is a true links course thanks to a collection of bumpy play areas spread across its tightly constricted playing field. This Irish course is not for the weak of heart. A prime example of the kinds of challenges faced at Lahinch include the 5th hole which must be played entirely blind thanks to a huge sand dune hiding the green from the tee. You may feel as though you can reach the par-4 13th with your drive, but be aware that many before you have tried and wound up sinking the hole on the 5th or 6th shot. In 2005, the course was named by Golf Digest as one of the 100 best places outside the U.S. to play golf.

You get spectacular views of the ocean, you get chasms, you get lush undergrowth and more bumpy hills than you will probably ever hope to see again. The signature 17th hole named after the film Ryan's Daughter affords a breathtaking panoramic view of mountains in the distance. Tralee Golf Club was named one of the top 10 ocean courses in the world by the Golf Channel.
