Imperial Palace
The Imperial Palace may be the best discount Las Vegas hotel for golfers, with guests receiving preferred access to the nearby Cascata and Rio Secco golf courses. At Rio Secco, guests can also take lessons at the Butch Harmon School of Golf. The hotel and casino are small and lack many of the amenities of the high-end resorts, but the convenient center-Strip location makes it easy to walk to Bally's, Bellagio, Caesar's Palace or several other larger Las Vegas casinos. Most of the standard rooms have their own small balcony, a rarity among discount Las Vegas hotels.

Sam's Town
If you have a car on your Las Vegas golf trip, consider staying at Sam's Town on the Boulder Highway. The hotel does have a free shuttle that takes guests to the Strip and downtown, but it only operates from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. and a cab ride back to Boulder will be very expensive if you get stuck out on the town. Sam's Town has entertainment for the whole family, with an arcade, 18-screen movie theater, and a 56-lane bowling alley on-site. The center of the casino features an air-conditioned indoor park complete with live plants and simulated nature sounds. A free laser and fountain show is held at the park's waterfall at 2:00, 6:00, 8:00 and 10:00 p.m. each day. For golfers who prefer to stay in a recreational vehicle, Sam's Town also has a 500-space RV park with full hookups.

Bill's Gamblin' Hall
Bill's Gamblin' Hall and Saloon is another good choice for discount accommodations in the middle of the Las Vegas Strip. Bill's is one of the smaller casino hotels on the Strip, but has a great location at the corner of Flamingo and Las Vegas Boulevard. No visit to Las Vegas is complete without seeing an Elvis impersonator, and Bill's has one of the best in Pete Vallee's free "Big Elvis" show. Showtimes are 3:00, 5:00 and 6:30 p.m. on weekdays only. Despite its small size, Bill's has an excellent steakhouse and a popular nightclub downstairs at Drai's After Hours.
