As a member of the oneworld® Alliance, American Airlines is able to offer passengers a choice of 8,500 daily departures to 600 destinations in 132 countries. One golf bag containing no more than 14 clubs, 12 golf balls and one pair of golf shoes weighing a maximum of 70 lbs is permitted in place of one regular item of luggage. As of 2009, transatlantic economy class passengers may check one bag for free and a second for $50.

British Airways
British Airways (BA) celebrated its 90th birthday in August of 2009, marking almost a century as an industry leader. BA is one of the world's biggest airlines and serves 148 destinations around the world. BA offers non-stop flights from east and west coast cities in the United States to its principle hub, Heathrow Airport. From Heathrow, passengers can connect to virtually anywhere in the world. World Traveler and Euro Traveler passengers may check one standard sized bag for free; World Traveler Plus and Club Europe passengers may check two. A golf bag can be checked in place of one regular luggage item, but if it weighs over 50 lbs, you may have to pay a $50 fee.

Air New Zealand
Air New Zealand serves 41 United States airports and a total of 80 destinations worldwide. Passengers may request a seat for all international flights and the standard baggage allowance is two pieces with a combined weight of up to 100 lbs. One golf bag containing a set of clubs and one pair of shoes, weighing under 70 lbs in total may be checked as part of the standard baggage allowance. Air New Zealand offers every transatlantic passenger a comprehensive movie and entertainment library during their flight.

Air Canada
Air Canada provides direct flights to over 170 destinations on five continents. Its major hubs are Vancouver, Calgary, Montreal and Toronto, offering transatlantic flights to London, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Munich, Rome, Geneva and Tel Aviv. Its oversized baggage fee is waived for golf bags up to 50 lbs with 14 or fewer clubs, 12 golf balls and one pair of shoes. If the golf bag or container is not rigid you may have to sign a limited release form to check them. Also remember to pre-register all sports equipment online or over the telephone at least 24 hours before your flight.
