Top San Francisco Attractions
San Francisco is one of those cities with certain attractions known around the world. One of the most famous and beautiful modern wonders of the world spans the bay in this golden town. For golfers, San Francisco is truly a wonderful place to visit because nearly every course here offers an impressive view of this exceptionally scenic city. When visiting San Francisco's attractions and golf courses, it is vital to remember the quote often attributed to Mark Twain about the coldest winter he ever spent being the summer he spent in San Francisco. It does remain chilly in the city by the bay throughout the year.

Golden Gate Bridge

The Golden Gate Bride is the very symbol of San Francisco. If anything qualifies as a must-see attraction, it would be this architectural masterpiece. The center pillars of Golden Gate rise 745 feet. The sight of thick fog rolling over the bay in the early morning is a memorable sight. After getting an up-close view of the bridge, head for the 9-hole Golden Gate Park Course for a quick game.

The Presidio

The Presidio stands as one of only a handful of national parks found within a U.S. urban area. The Presidio began as a Spanish military outpost, wound up under control of the U.S. Army before being passed on to the National Park Service. As a park, the Presidio is home to hundreds of historically significant buildings, hiking trails and the Presidio Golf Course, one of the city's most impressive.

A visit to San Francisco should definitely include a stop by Chinatown. A walking tour of this famous area of town reveals a wealth of cultural information. The stores, restaurants, and outdoor markets create a memorable experience filled with distinctive sounds, sights and, especially, smells. It's difficult to walk through Chinatown without caving in to the desire for Chinese food. When you get done, head to the Lincoln Park Municipal Golf Course for yet another memorable San Francisco experience.
