San Francisco is a city that is rich with history, arts, entertainment, tourist attractions and golf. If you're heading to the city by the bay, there's no shortage of historic, much revered courses in the area, including The Presidio, which has been around since the turn of the century. If you're going to the Legion of Honor, the city's fine arts museum, you might want to take the time and grab a bite to eat at some of the San Francisco area's best restaurants.
Cliff House
The Cliff House is truly a restaurant to be experienced. It's actually three restaurants in one, with its Bistro on one level, the Terrace Room on another and Sutro's at Cliff House yet a third. The Bistro offers casual surroundings combined with some of the best clam chowder in San Francisco and fresh popovers. Sutro's is a little more upscale and has floor-to-ceiling windows that look out over the bay. The menu at Sutro's changes with the season, but the seafood is some of the freshest in the world. And, if you're thinking about a little Sunday brunch before the museum, the Terrace Room offers a tremendous ambiance and eats from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., but it doesn't take reservations after 2 p.m.

Patpong Thai Restaurant
The Lincoln Park area is home to several Thai restaurants, the best of which being Patpong. The atmosphere is a sanctuary, very quiet and soothing, which, on a day at the museum, you might not necessarily need. The food, like Fresh Corn Fritters, Duck Salad, Herbal Red Snapper and Green Curry with Salmon, is an eclectic mix of both traditional and non-traditional foods that make for an unforgettable dining experience whether this is your first time or your 500th. Patpong is located just a few short blocks to the West of the Legion of Honor off of Geary Boulevard.

Beach Chalet Brewery and Restaurant
The Beach Chalet Brewery and Restaurant is located on top of the Golden Gate Park Visitor's Center. Before or after the Legion of Honor, you can stop in, have a bite to eat and a brew and then go find out more about the local area. The Beach Chalet has a full bar and traditional American brew pub food but prepared with the same hand-crafted care that goes in to making its pints of wheat, IPA, red and stout beers that are enjoyed by the thousands of regulars and one-time visitors who stop through every day. Besides the typical brewhouse burgers, you'll also find a menu that hosts a good selection of seafood with some of the area's best prawns, crab cakes, steamed mussels and fish and chips.
