Great Hotels in Detroit Michigan

Great Hotels in Detroit Michigan
All those wealthy auto executives love to play golf, and that has made the Detroit area a rich source for those golfers visiting the city. The auto industry also meant that the city was forced to build some very fine hotels for those coming into the state to discuss business. The economic downturn in the auto sector has meant a downturn in the business for these hotels and courses, so that means you may be able to find a very good deal at both the hotels and the golf courses around Detroit.

Crowne Plaza

The Crowne Plaza has long been a favorite of Detroit travelers ever since it was known as the Ponch. The fitness center can bulk you up before you hit the links, and the elegant swimming pool is a relaxing way to soothe any back spasms you may experience afterward. Location is ideal as the hotel is situated right across from Hart Plaza and Cobo Center. This is a terrific hotel for golfers as guests can get up to a 20 percent discount on greens fees and a price break on equipment rental as well.

Omni River Place

The Omni River Place is conveniently located less than six miles from Chandler Park Golf Club. If you want to try your hand at golf's older cousin, the Omni is also home to the only sanctioned championship croquet course in Michigan. A notable amenity you will find at the Omni River Place is something called a Get Fit room in which you can get a workout within the privacy of your own hotel room. Families with children should check into the Omni Kids program that offers fun things to keep the younger ones entertained.
