Gold Canyon Golf Resort
Gold Canyon offers two great courses: Dinosaur Mountain and Sidewinder. Dinosaur Mountain presents the greater challenge due to its elevation changes and because its breathtaking views are distracting. Sidewinder suffers in comparison because of its more traditional design, but makes up for that failure with significantly lower greens fees. Sports Illustrated deemed Gold Canyon to be one of the 10 most underrated courses in the country.

If you can stand the high heat of summer, you can play here for less than half the price charged during the peak season. Wigwam has won multiple awards from such esteemed golfing experts as Links Magazine and Travel & Leisure Golf.

Papago Golf Course
Papago Golf Course is a very well regarded municipal course owned by the city itself. If you played this course in the past, be aware it underwent extensive renovations in 2008. The new course has been completely returfed and some of the more obstructive trees have been removed. The East Valley Tribune noted that with the redesign, this golf course vaulted into the new millennium.

Boulders Golf Club
The Boulders Golf Club should top the list of anyone who prefers to swing his clubs on a course that is amazing. The scenic views of the literally named Boulders Club is enough to distract golfers who have trouble with concentration. Rock formations that look like something from an episode of the old Star Trek movies dominate the two courses found here. The South Course is generally regarded as the more challenging. The Boulders is one of just five resorts that has managed to snag a Gold Medal from Golf Magazine every year since 1988.
