Dayton Airport Car Seat Rules

Ohio law requires that you take your children under the age of 8 to the airport sitting in a car or booster seat. You are not required to take the car or booster seat on the airplane for your child to sit in, but the FAA recommends that you do so in order to keep your child properly restrained in the event of severe turbulence during your flight. If you take the car seat with you, it will not count against your allowance of carry-on bags on your flight.

If you are arriving into the Dayton airport with your children, you will need to either fly with their car seats or make arrangements for your car rental company to provide seats.

If you live in a state where children do not require car seats beyond the age of 4, then you may not have a car or booster seat that fits your child. It may be necessary to borrow a child seat or rent one through your car rental agency. Most car rental agencies will provide a car or booster seat as part of your car rental as long as you request the seat in advance.
