List of Illegal Golf Clubs

List of Illegal Golf Clubs
There are hundreds of models of golf clubs, and many of them do not conform to United States Golf Association rules regarding club specifications or limitations on the spring effect of the ball leaving the club head. Non-conforming clubs cannot be used in officially sanctioned events, and it is poor form to use them in any event or match when there is something at stake. Therefore it is important to know which clubs are illegal.

Nike Golf

Among the Nike Golf drivers on the non-confirming list SQ Sumo2 460 and SQ Sumo2 460 Lucky 13. The SQ Sumo2 460 in lofts of 7.5, 8.5, 9.5 and 10.5 must be checked to ensure they are legal. As for the SQ Sumo2 460 Lucky 13, the clubs with a loft of 13 are the ones that must be checked.
The illegal clubs have marks that identify them as such. Both have SQ and Sumo2 on a trapezoid insert along with SQ, the Nike logo, the words Super Moment of Inertia and the number 460 on the sole of the driver head. The Lucky 13 model also has the words Lucky 13 on the sole.

Sigma Golf

Sigma Golf of the United Kingdom makes clubs under the name Ltd. PGA Collection and Ltd. Power Play System Q Tri-Port.
The illegal club among the PGA Collection is the one with a loft of 10.5. It has identifying markings of HCF, PGA, Pro, 1, Collection, B-Titanium and the loft degree on the sole. On the crown of the club head is an alignment mark.
The Power Play illegal clubs are those with lofts of 9, 10.5 and 12. The identifying marks on these include 460cc with the loft degree, System, Q and Tri-Port on the sole of the driver head. The toe has the words Power Play and Fade. The heel has the word Draw. The face is imprinted with Ti460, and the crown has an alignment mark.

Slazenger Golf

Slazenger Golf's K1 Speed line has two clubs on the non-conforming list: those with lofts of 10 and 12. The 12 is a ladies club. The identifying markings on the clubs are the same. There is the Slazenger logo and the words Slazenger, K1, Speed and Knife on the sole. The toe has HRC Forged TA4, 460, CC and Titanium. The heel has the logo, and the face has K1.
