You may be planning on being in Boston either on business or with your family. Most people don't realize golf is a big deal in Boston, but it's home to many fine courses. William J. Devine Golf Course at Franklin Park, the second oldest course in America, is in excellent condition and challenging regardless of your ability. Boston also has some of the country's most famous hotels in the country, each modernized for their guests' comfort.

Four Seasons Boston

If you yearn to be pampered and still be close to Boston attractions like Back Bay and Newbury Street, stay at the Four Seasons Boston. All guestrooms have an array of amenities such as cable television, fully stocked and refrigerated private mini bars, multiline telephones with voice mail and Internet access. There are terrycloth bathrobes and slippers, and a daily newspaper is delivered to your door each morning. This hotel also has a fitness center and the Bristol Lounge for food or drinks. The cost of a night's stay is $475 and up (2009).

Nine Zero Hotel

Nine Zero Hotel is only three miles from Logan International Airport and within walking distance from the shopping on Newbury Street and historic Faneuil Hall and Boston Common. This 190-room hotel provides its guest with an array of in-room amenities such as custom bath products, cable television, a fully stocked mini bar, bathrobes, spa services, a daily newspaper at your door and round-the-clock room service. The hotel has a well-equipped fitness center that's open 24/7, and offers free daily shoeshines. There's also a nightly wine reception and dining at KO Prime. A night at the Nine Zero Hotel costs $300 and up (2009 prices).

The Liberty Hotel

The Liberty Hotel was originally the Charles Street Jail, which was built in 1851; but after a $150 million conversion, it became one of Boston's premier luxury hotels. Each of its guestrooms has an array of Molton Brown bath products, extra-soft bathrobes, a flat-screen television, two telephones, a minibar, both wired and un-wired Internet access, a hair dryer and a safe. There's a fitness center that you can access 24 hours a day and same-day laundry and dry cleaning, and you can have your shoes shined each night. There are two restaurants and Alibi lounge. A night at The Liberty Hotel costs $421 or more (2009).
