The Best Atlanta Restaurants

The Best Atlanta Restaurants
After a great day on Atlanta area courses like the Bobby Jones Golf Course or Sugar Creek, it's time to head out for a good meal. Atlanta has never been at a loss for good restaurants, and the metropolitan sprawl of the past few decades has only resulted in even more great chefs coming into Georgia's capital.

Bone's

This is the Atlanta steakhouse where the rich and the powerful come to dine. Although it's highly atmospheric, it's the food that brings the crowd back. Steaks are definitely what Bone's is known for, but don't overlook the seafood choices. The lobster bisque is almost as famous as the steaks, and both the veal and lamb chops are first-rate. The onion rings may be the largest you've ever eaten, and the wine list is one of the most impressive in town.

Nakato

Nakato has long been one of the area's most popular Japanese restaurants as well as one of the best. The restaurant is divided into rooms by cooking style. You can watch the spectacle of chefs slicing and dicing and tossing food into the air in one room, or go to the sushi room where nothing is cooked at all. The Hibachi chefs are very nearly worth the price alone, but do stay for the yakitori, shrimp tempura, or tuna tataki. The traditional menu runs from baked mussels to tender and juicy Kobe beef. The sushi menu is very extensive.

Vortex at Little Five Points

In truth, Atlanta has several Vortex Bar and Grill outlets, but if you're going to eat here you might as well go to the one on Little Five Points. There is no better spot for people watching, thrift store shopping, or getting into the bohemian spirit of the city than this section of Atlanta. The Vortex is far cheaper than many other restaurants considered among the best, but you will be hard-pressed to find better turkey sandwiches, black bean burgers, or deli food than here. That is not even to mention the 30 different beers on tap, certainly something to consider after a hot day on the links.

Athens Pizza House

If you've never had Greek-style pizza before, there is no better place to start than this Decatur-area tradition. In the best Greek style, you can also order large salads and gyros here, but it is their very special pizzas that make this place so popular. The pizzas are all topped with feta cheese, and include such toppings as Kalamata black olives, artichoke hearts, and spinach.
